Life is a journey and my journey began as a very young child with a passion to become a teacher. I taught the neighborhood kids in my basement how to read, write and do math because I believed that if you have these skills you could succeed in life. In high school I was the President of the Future Teachers of America Club and knew that without a doubt I wanted to be a teacher. However, when I was ready to apply to colleges there were no jobs for teachers and I chose the other fork in the road, to go to Bentley College and major in Accounting. I later changed my major to Marketing and graduated with a BS in Marketing and an AS in Accounting.
Everyone has moment in there life where there is a big shift. My shift happened when my 16-year-old son, Danny, was killed in a car crash in April of 2003. An opening appeared into a world of spirituality that I never knew existed before. This was his gift to me and I am grateful for it. The big question was what do I do now with my life…curl up in a ball or choose to live. I chose the latter and sought out an Intuitive Life Coach to help answer the big questions, “Why am I here and what is my purpose in life?” She told me that I was meant to be a teacher in this lifetime but not an ordinary teacher but a teacher of Love. So my next question was how do you teach Love.
After many years of researching, attending Omega Institute, Kripalu and many other seminars, reading hundreds of books, I felt I was ready to put what I had learned into service. In 2009 I had an intuitive reading with Robert Ohotto and we discussed options to further educate myself that would pull everything together. He suggested Dr. Darren Weissman’s LifeLine Technique as an option. I fell in love with The LifeLine Technique and knew this was a vehicle that I would be able to teach love. I also was drawn to becoming a Holistic Health Counselor and trained at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition®. They are both programs that are heart based, centering on self-love, unconditional love and compassionate love. They strive to enable/help/assist you to put balance in your life, to live your life to your highest potential and to learn to follow your dreams.
The journey of life is an amazing one. Sometimes the longer road is the right path to follow. My business skills from Bentley College enabled me to start my practice, One Life in Balance, to teach clients how to find their “perfect” life…one that is full of love, and balanced in every way.
